TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN, RIGHT KIDS!?!?!
alright. enough with the dad jokes. time to get serious.
For real though, I was driving down the highway last week, one
hand…fine, knee on the wheel, attempting to unwrap my Jimmy John sandwich while singing along to some throwback Usher, when I realized that the last 6 months have flown by faster than the Honda Accord that just zoomed by (and when I mean zoomed, I mean ZOOMED because I was already driving a tad fast because I was cutting it a bit close on time (because of the Jimmy John’s)). It was at that moment which I turned down Usher and decided to have a good ‘ole car ~think sesh~.
actual photo of me ~thriving~ (ps. this was taken while my car was in PARK at my destination)
6 months ago, I was entering into the first semester at the school that I have been dreaming about since I was a sophomore in high school, and finally, my sophomore year of college was able to make that dream a reality. The timing was truly perfect, as this was a prime example of how God’s timing truly is the best 🙂
sidebar: I could write a NOVEL on that situation ^^ and maybe one day I will sit down with a pot of coffee and write it… but until then, I always tell my friends as the insanely wise, well read, and accomplished adult that I am (can’t even write that statement with a straight face), how the biggest lesson that I have learned so far is the ability to have patience, and trust the process, as at the end of the day, I have minimal control over the situation. Alas, sidebar over!!
It was a fast turnaround, but I had to quickly apply to the college within the university, and I ended up being selected to join Grady College’s Advertising Class of 2021.
Fine, I’ll admit it… I definitely got a little happy when I got accepted in the program because 2 years UGA denied me admittance into the university, and 2 years later I was being accepted into their advertising program that is ranked in the Top #5 in the nation. As Micheal Scott once wisely stated, “My how the turntables”.
February came around and the stars aligned, and somehow I was able to attend New York Fashion Week with one of my best friend (Link to that post more in detail here). Honestly, I still don’t know how I finessed that one. Seriously, I think I blacked out in the moment, but the next thing I know I was taking the 6:30am flight to one of my favorite places in the entire world, to watch a couture line debut in the heart of the Big Apple. I will truly never forget that moment. My
I also got to meet some of the most amazing people! Seriously, I don’t know how I have gone 20 years without these amazing people in my life! I know this sounds super #sap but, these people are GEMS. We currently went through 5 different spare keys (rip to cheetah key, red light key, silver key #1, gold key #2 and bulldog key), and spent way
I learned how to be more independent, but at the same time, realize that I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON!!! Sorry that was
That is the one thing that I have realized.
a) I have little to know control when it comes to my plan. I can sit there and color-code the s*** out of my planner, and set 7 alarms, set my clothes out the night before, and eat my veggies, but that is not going to help/or affect the inevitable. As a minor perfectionist that finds peace in planning, this would drive me CRAZY, however, after I realized that there.are.just.some.things.that.i.can’t.control. and learned to just throw my hands up in the air (like ya just don’t care…
Trust me though, I’m still learning, failing miserably, but learning to laugh about it, and trust the process and His plan.
The past 6 months have been nothing short of exceptional, and I truly cannot wait to see what the next 6 months have in store…just have my fingers crossed that it includes the Dawgs advancing to the Natty (SPEAKING IT TO EXISTENCE)
alright, peace out girl scout!
